Countries: USA, United Kingdom

Director: Roar Uthaug

Synopsis: Action adventure. Lara Croft works as a bike courier in London, with little sense of purpose in her life. Until she signs a document declaring her missing father to be dead, she will not inherit his fortune and control of his companies. The family associate Ana Miller finally persuades Lara to sign, or else the family home will be sold off. As she is about to sign, though, Lara receives from the Croft company lawyer Mr Yaffe an artefact her father left for her: a curious Japanese puzzle box, containing a written clue which leads Lara to discover a secret vault and a final video message left for her by her father. He instructs her to destroy all the research he has done into an old Japanese myth about a deathly figure known as Himiko, now buried on an island off Japan, called Yamatai, which is not found on maps. Instead of respecting his wishes, Lara travels to Hong Kong with her father's notebook, in search of ship-owner Lu Ren, who she believes sailed her father to Yamatai, where her father vanished. En route she finds herself courting great danger. When she finally reaches the island, she finds much more than she bargained for.
